Picking a man of the match for Bolton is never easy. Sometimes it's because the boys put in an incredible team performance, and you just can't pick one. However, other times, like yesterday, it's because no one put in a 90 minutes worthy of that accolade. Had the second half continued in the way of the first, I would honestly not be able to pick anyone. Luckily the second half did pick up a bit and there were a few contenders. Tuncay, Martin Petrov, and Ryo Miyaichi all put in sparks of an attack, but the driving force behind most of them was, as usual, Mark Davies.
In Stu Holden's absence, Mark Davies has grown into the engine of the midfield. Whenever Bolton had a cohesive spell of possession, which was admittedly not that often, Sparky probably had a touch on it. He also scored Bolton's consolation goal to go even with Wigan. While Wigan got one back in the end, his goal sparked a mini-revival from the Men in White. It wasn't quite enough, and in the end no one's performance was good enough, but for me Mark Davies came closest. Who was your MOTM? Vote in the poll or leave your answer in the comments!
