Benik Afobe heads to Millwall on loan

Michael Steele

Former Bolton Wanderers loanee Benik Afobe is heading to the Den on loan for the rest of the season. Afobe made 23 appearances for Bolton Wanderers in all competitions this season and was originally scheduled to be with Bolton for the whole of the 2012/2013 campaign. In those 23 appearances, he managed just three goals and no assists for Bolton. He also started for England U21s on Tuesday (but only lasted for a half).

The move is a bit of strange one though. When Marvin Sordell said he was racially abused by Millwall fans at the Den,he specifically named Benik Afobe as one of the other Wanderers on the receiving end, saying:

Chungy, Pratts, Benik and i had all sorts of things said to us. The police were standing yards away and did nothing...

Good luck and all that to Benik, we're just happy he's no longer at Bolton Wanderers. We weren't fans.
