News Round Up

Well we are rapidly approaching Coyle's first game in charge and I must say, the more I think about it the more nervous I become. There is a lot of pressure on Coyle, especially since everyone (except Coyle and Bolton officials) are calling this a step backwards for the former Burnley boss.

He'll be out to prove them wrong. The wonderful bloggers at ESPN Soccernet (don't be put off by the name!) have compiled a little to-do list for Coyle. While I disagree with the two Kevin Davies related points, the rest is true enough. It's a daunting list, but I have faith in Coyle. We'll see how well that goes.

In more mundane news, our cup tip has been confirmed. We will be hosting Sheffield United on the 23rd. It is very important for Bolton to stay in the FA Cup, as it provides such a morale boost. Hopefully the midtable Championship team will not prove too much of a challenge.

Bolton have taken Scotsman-turned-Yank Stuart Holden on trial. He is currently a midfielder for MLS giants LA Galaxy Houston Dynamo, and has 12 caps for the United States. I've seen him play a couple of times and have been impressed. He looks solid and can actually make complete passes (unlike some of our current midfielders)

That's all for now, but I'll hopefully be back on the weekend to give a report on the Arsenal game.
