Charlotte Eagles 0-3 Bolton Wanderers

Bolton have kicked off their preseason games with a victory! Mind you, it was against a team that even most Americans haven't heard of, but still, a win's a win and I'll take it. Some semblance of highlights here (via @epltalk on Twitter), complete with an interview with Sam Ricketts.

The three scorers were Gary Cahill, Johan Elmander, and Martin Petrov, which is fantastic. I always love it when defenders score, Elmander desperately needs the confidence, and of course I'm pleased our debutant opened his account. Unfortunately Cahill was subbed off at 43 minutes after requiring treatment on his leg, but hopefully nothing too serious. If you want a full report of the game, click on over to Burnden Aces. And I will leave you with the two lineups Coyel used in the game:

First-half: Jaaskelainen, Ricketts, Cahill (Andy O'Brien 43), Knight, Robinson, Petrov, Gardner, Muamba, Taylor, Kevin Davies, Blake.

Second-half: Bogdan, Basham, O'Brien, Samuel, Ward, Cohen, Mark Davies, Elmander, Riga, Ricketts, Petrov.
