West Ham v. Bolton

Will he score?

Will he score?

The season's really back isn't it? It feels weird, especially after the World Cup, to be writing previews like this again. I really have high hopes for this game. Recent history is in our favour, we're on a 5 game winning streak against West Ham, and they haven't beaten us since the 2006/07 season. That's 4 years sans victory. I also think that West Ham have a lot of work to do after last week's disastrous debut, and that a week is definitely not enough time to accomplish it all in. Avram Grant certainly has a project on his hands.

While West Ham has quite a bit to worry about, I think Bolton's pretty secure. We have a good squad (when did this happen?), a competent manager, and players with a real hunger. Despite my original opinions on Zat Knight, he's turned into a rather good player. Cahill is back fully fit in a way he wasn't last season. I still have doubts about Paul Robinson (even though I was called a "sour little man" because of this opinion), but Coyle is spoilt for choice on the otherside between Steinsson and Ricketts. Our midfield is showing creativity, and putting together some nice plays. Now if we could just get one in.

I'm very excited about this game, I reckon Bolton will really come out to play. Coyle will be anxious to show the world that his Bolton is different and better than Megson's, especially after Megson's outburst on the radio. Against dubious opposition is the perfect time to do just that. Come on you Whites!
