It seems that the one area of the Bolton Wanderers squad that isn't thin this year is the midfield. Between Reo-Coker, Pratley, Mavies, Muamba, Eagles, Petrov, and some of the youngsters, Bolton seem to be a bit spoiled for choice. Yet, we are the Mighty Bolton Wanderers and an explosion of injuries could happen at any moment. That's why the news that the Trotters are on the lookout for another man in the middle, especially one with the promise of Jonny Howson. is very welcome.
Howson is currently on the books at Leeds United but is in the final year of his contract. The club offered him an extension but he has yet to accept the renewed terms. Should he choose to not stick around, the club will look to offload him in January to avoid him leaving on a free.
Howson looks a bit of a special player with an eye for popping up in the right place at the right time. He's yet to score a goal in the Championship this season but with 10 goals in all competitions throughout 2010/2011, he certainly has the ability. If Bolton were able to get him on the cheap or even for free at the end of the season, he could become a midfield dynamo at t'Reebok.
