Yet another American at the mighty Bolton Wanderers? It just might happen, albeit very temporarily. News out of the Twitterverse is that another Yank will be making his way over to t'Reebok to train with the mighty Trotters. Just which American, you ask? Why, Teal Bunbury, the young Sporting Kansas City forward of course! At only 21 years old, Bunbury still has a long career ahead of him and he's already made quite an impact in his second year playing in Major League Soccer. 14 goals in 55 appearances earned him a call up to the United States Men's National Team where he's scored once in the two games that he's made it onto the field.
Stuart Holden is a staple in Trotters households and has proven to be damn near the best thing since some inventive genius decided to slice bread. It's no secret that United States manager Jurgen Klinsmann is desperate to get the midfielder back in the national team fold. Back when Stu was on the verge of a comeback and playing for the reserves, Klinsmann made a trip to watch him play and ended up building a bit of a rapport with Owen Coyle. That rapport was likely very instrumental in the news that both Bunbury and Jeff Larentowicz would have training stints with Bolton.
Keep in mind that nothing is official yet and the report is based on a Kansas City beat writer's tweet. Bunbury trained with Stoke City in December of 2010 and that's all that this would be, a training session. Bolton very likely could not afford to sign Bunbury if he were to become available for a transfer.
