Unsurprisingly, things are a bit slow at the moment. The season is not quite over, but the transfer rumour mill has yet to fully start up. This means it’s the perfect time for me to write about the Junior Whites end of the season party, complete with awards as voted by our young supporters. Every year the players attend to pick up any awards they may have won, then sign shirts for the kids, and according to Super Kevin Davies, a jolly time is had by all. Of course, Kev would have a good time as he picked up the highly prestigious Player Your Mum Most Fancies award. And who would deny him it?
Other winners included Mark Davies who got the Goal of the Season award for his equaliser against Blackpool at the Reebok (the goal in question can be found at 2:34 in the video). Ivan Klasnic scooped two awards, Best Goal Celebration and Best Dressed, a choice that given Ivan’s outfit on the night, which included an apparently home made snood, clarifies why you do not let a 5 year old dress you.
Danny Sturridge also got two awards in Best Signing and Best Newcomer, although I don’t really see the difference between the two. Congratulations anyway!
The last two awards with to Stu Holden, who was unable to attend. He got Player of the Season, which was well deserved, and of course Best Hairstyle. Because children love those frosted tips. Congratulations to all the players who won, and a bless to the players who came out anyway!
