Well those of you that hoped we'd be drawing Shrewsbury Town or MK Dons should look away now. Instead we have been blessed with a midweek trip down to Birmingham to face Aston Villa. Sounds lovely doesn't it? The match will take place sometime in the week of September 19th, sandwiched between hosting Norwich and traveling to Arsenal. With this in mind, wee could have had worse luck and drawn a Big Four team to intensify the awful run of fixtures we've been blessed with. It will by no means be an easy match, but it is also one we can win, especially if coming off a confident win over Norwich (I hope).
It will be interesting to see the team that Coyle fields. This is no Macclesfield Town, and all respect to Joe Riley, we will need our best team if we expect to get anything from this. It will be a true test of Coyle's commitment to the Cup. Personally I think we should take it seriously, a good cup run will be just what the team needs in the midst of the minefield fixture list, even with the disadvantage of fatigue taken into account. Go check out what the enemy has to say about the draw here.
