Being 2-0 down before you're forced to play with 10 men thanks to a quite stupid red card isn't what you want. Ivan Klasnic had a lack of any sort of composure in the weekend's 2-1 loss to Norwich City that didn't help matters and ultimately dug a hole too deep for Bolton Wanderers' offensive spark in the second half to climb out of. While soft, Klasnic's actions deserved the card. Owen Coyle has said following the match that he will punish the striker.
If you missed the incident, a description and video plus quotes from Owen Coyle can be found after the jump:
Klasnic tapped foreheads with Marc Tierney who happened to go down like a sniper in Row Z took him out with a deftly placed shot to the face. Video evidence begins at the 3:50 mark.
Following the match and what ended up being Bolton's 5th consecutive home defeat, Coyle said the following of the situation:
"The skipper [Kevin Davies] and Tuncay both had to be sacrificed because of Ivan's folly in getting himself sent off.. Will I fine him? He certainly knows my feelings on the subject.
"Sometimes, you can understand it when a young boy gets caught up in the heat of the moment, but he is an experienced player. He is a seasoned international who has played at the very highest level all his career."That is when you have to use your experience, because going down to 10 men when you are already 2-0 behind is not exactly ideal."
