There hasn't been much in the way of players arriving at the Reebok with the exceptions of rumors that involve Americans, Englishmen, and likely a representative from every other nation in the world in between. Despite not having any signings to announce yet (with word that a new centerback could be on his way any day now), Bolton have done a bit of business in the loan market by sending promising youngster Jack Sampson out...

...but not before ensuring his future, for the time being.

Sampson will go on loan to League Two club Southend United for the next month to gain some experience in league play with a chance that the deal will extend to the end of the season for Southend. The Shrimpers sit in second place in the League Two table, six points above the four playoff spots for promotion to League One.

The 18 year old Samson has been with Bolton Wanderers since the U-13 level and made his England U-19 debut against the Netherlands back in September, 2011. Before leaving for his loan stint, Sampson extended his Bolton stay with a new 18-month contract. He's been described as a target man for the Baby Whites (yeah, I just called them that) and holds a lot of promise for Bolton's future. Best of luck to the youngster as we hope he tears up the lower divisions.
