Ten games into the season, Benik Afobe, much like the rest of the tea, is having a tough time of it in the Championship. In all competitions this season, he has started two matches and come on as a substitute in a further eight. In those ten appearances, he has managed only one goal for Bolton. That one came as the opener in Bolton's 2-1 loss to Crawley Town in the League Cup.
One big reason that Bolton currently sit 18th in the Championship table is a lack of goals coming from the strikers due to them not taking their chances. Speaking to Sky Sports, Afobe has said that he remains confident Bolton can climb back to the Premiership:
"I've been watching Bolton for many years, as a youngster, in the Premier League and they've got a fantastic squad here, with more than half of the side kept on from last season.
"You could say that all the players here are Premier League players in terms of quality and now it's just a case of turning that into performances every week.
"The aim is to bounce straight back into the Premier League and hopefully I can help to make that happen this season.
"We can't change what has gone in the past, but it is up to us now to change the club's fortunes around, starting with the next game against Bristol City."
