Police have confirmed that they have received a complaint regarding the image posted to a Marvin Sordell fan page on Facebook a couple of days following Bolton's loss to Millwall. Said complaint is "due to officially be lodged at a north-west London police station later today."
The image was posted with a caption that simply read "dont f*** with the millwall" and showed a bloodied Sordell (the image was Photoshopped, obviously) and a handgun pointing at the young England and Bolton Wanderers player.
This latest round of abuse comes after Sordell said he and three other Bolton players were racially abused by Millwall fans and fan violence in Serbia. Yesterday, the England U21 team beat Serbia right at the death in order to secure their qualification for the 2013 European Championships. As Connor Wickham scored right before the final whistle, it kicked off at the Serbian stadium with Serbian players engaging the England squad and fans running onto the field as well as throwing objects from the stand.
