Leeds Score On Either Side Of Halftime To Go 2-1 Up

Bolton looked like they were cruising throughout the half first half. The Wanderers were pretty much on the front foot through the whole of it and were close to going 2-0 up on a number of occasions. In typical Bolton fashion though, the Trotters did not take advantage and Leeds did.

In the 43rd minute, Leeds were awarded a free kick that El-Hadji Diouf stood over. The former Bolton forward sent the ball in and Leeds' Sam Byram headed home high to the far corner, past Adam Bogdan. The teams went into the dressing room level on goals.

It started poorly after the break, as it typically does for the Trotters. It was the defender Sam Byram causing trouble again, this time rushing into the box and stumbling over from a Stephen Warnock challenge. Luciano Becchio took the penalty kick for Leeds and sent Adam Bogdan the wrong way. Becchio's seventh goal in nine games sent Leeds 2-1 up on 49 minutes.
