Matt Mills suffers thigh injury

Michael Steele

The hits just keep on coming. We just received official confirmation that Mark Davies would be out of action for two to three months. Now, Bolton have suffered another injury blow with Matt Mills. The defender, who was recalled to the lineup against Huddersfield Town, went off with a leg injury in the 85th minute only for Tim Ream to come on.

The club have confirmed that Mills suffered a thigh injury and will be out of action for up to six weeks, joining David Wheater on the injured central defender list.

Bolton now have to pick from Zat Knight and Tim Ream as the only natural central defenders in the squad and Sam Ricketts who has played in the position this season. The key consideration here is that Bolton are not exactly deep in the position. Whether this opens the door for youngsters like Andy Kellett or Joe Riley to make the bench remains to be seen.

Bolton return to the Reebok Stadium this weekend to take on Charlton.
