Tom Eaves is about to return to Bolton Wanderers after learning his Bristol Rovers loan will not be extended, meaning his last game will be against Aldershot. Eaves was brought to Bristol by former manager Mark McGhee, who was ultimately sacked a couple of weeks back, in a three month loan deal in September.
In those three months, Tom Eaves scored seven times in 17 appearances but ultimately could not help steer the Pirates to safety as they remain bottom of League Two, just one point out of safety.
Eaves originally came to Bolton after the Trotters played his former club, Oldham Athletic, in a preseason friendly. Oldham won that game 3-0 with Tom Eaves scoring all three goals. Eaves signed in August 2010 for three years. He missed all of the 2011/2012 season after suffering a major injury while Bolton were on a preseason tour of the US. It's important not to put too much pressure on Eaves, as he has been performing at a lower level, but hopefully he will be able to convert some of that experience into meaningful skills with the Wanderers.
