Transfer rumor: Swansea City interested in Marcos Alonso

Clive Brunskill

Sky Sports News is reporting that Swansea City are in the market for a new left back and that manager Michael Laudrup is interested in our own Marcos Alonso. The connection between Laudrup and Alonso comes through Michael Laudrup's son, Andreas.

Andreas is a 22-year-old midfielder at Nordsjaelland (who finished fourth in their Champions League group behind Juventus, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Chelsea, in that order). Andreas Laudrup spent some time with Real Madrid's youth academy though with, guess who, Marcos Alonso.

Marcos Alonso joined Bolton in 2010 at 19 years old. He is 21 now and is finally making his way up the pecking order. Since joining, Alonso has made a total of 24 appearances in all competitions for Bolton. So far this season, he has started five times and scored two goals.

Do keep in mind that this is all speculation at the moment and nothing solid has come up but it certainly is an interesting link.
