Ricardo 'Bibi' Gardner Returns to National Side

Clive Brunskill

After 3 years of absence, everyone's favourite Jamaican left-winger (he is everyone's favourite Jamaican left-winger, right?) has been called up to Jamaica's final squad for the 2012 Caribbean Cup later this month. Bibi has been a free agent, after being released by Bolton Wanderers in the summer. Considering that he has only made a combined 12 appearances in the last two seasons (including a loan spell at Preston North End in 2010-2011), it is perhaps a bit surprising that he has now received the call for international duty, but we couldn't be happier for him

Gardner's last appearance for the Reggae Boys came in 2009 for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. He made his first appearance in 1997, has scored 9 goals to date, and captained the side from 2005 to 2009. Bibi is no stranger to the Caribbean Cup, as he was part of the Jamaica team that won in in 1998.

We wish the best of luck to Bibi and his Reggae Boys!
