Huddersfield take the early lead thanks to an own goal

Another game, another good Bolton start. The Trotters tested Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Alex Smithies on two occasions in the first ten minutes. Wanderers once again enjoyed the lion's share of possession and once again, it all came undone.

It was a rare Huddersfield break in the first ten minutes that was eventually put out by a Bolton man for a Huddersfield corner. James Vaughan delivered the ball into the box and Anthony Gerrard (Steven's cousin) rose highest to meet it. His header hit Zat Knight and went into the back of Adam Bogdan's net.

The Terriers took the game by the scruff of the neck after that and after 20 minutes, they enjoyed 67% of the possession. Huddersfield would come close a couple of more times, forcing Adam Bogdan saves and hitting the bar. Bolton came close after Smithies blocked a Mark Davies effort and Keith Andrews' shot on the rebound fizzed just over the crossbar.

Since the goal, Bolton have struggled to find their feet again.
