It started off well for Stevenage, really well in fact. Stevenage have earned a bit of a reputation as giant killers in the past couple years, having held Spurs 0-0 in the fifth round this year and beating Newcastle United last year. In the replay of the FA Cup 5th round, however, David was undone by Goliath.

Stevenage took a quick 1-0 lead after they were awarded a penalty in the 4th minute. A well placed shot from the spot by Joel Byrom handed them the lead. Tottenham would equalize in the 26th minute thanks to a Jermain Defoe shot from the edge of the box. Emmanuel Adebayor's 54th minute goal handed Spurs the lead before Jermain Defoe doubled up in the 75th to stick the dagger in Stevenage.

Tottenham Hotspur advance to the quarterfinals of the FA Cup to face Bolton Wanderers at White Hart Lane. It is undoubtedly a fixture that not many fans are looking forward to given our current form. Spurs however have lost defender Michael Dawson to suspected ankle ligament damage and winger Aaron Lennon who limped off the field.

The FA Cup Quarter Final fixture will be played on March 17
