West Ham have achieved the one season bounce back Bolton hope to do this season, by winning promotion to the Premiership in the playoff final at Wembley. Carlton Cole opened the scoring in the first half, while Ricardo Vaz Te, a product of the Bolton youth set up put the Hammers back ahead in the 87th minute, condemning the Tangerines to another season in the Championship.
West Ham have been dubbed Bolton Lite since appointing Big Sam Allardyce, who duly brought in many Bolton veterans. 3 ex-Bolton players, Kevin Nolan, Matthew Taylor, and Ricardo Vaz Te, featured in the starting lineup today, while 2 more, Joey O'Brien and Abdoulaye Faye, are on West Ham's books. Blackpool put in a good show despite West Ham being the big favourites going into this match. Tom Ince put his team back in the game with a sweet volley just after halftime, but in the end the favourites won out. Bolton will be playing Blackpool in the Championship. Full match report here.
