Tomorrow at Wembley, we will learn who the final piece of the 2012/2013 Championship is as Huddersfield Town take on Sheffield United at Wembley. One of these teams will be our opponent next season but that isn't the most important headline for Bolton Wanderers fans to watch going into the match. Instead, Sheffield United feature a current Bolton youth in their squad while Huddersfield purchased one of ours after a successful loan stint last season.
Michael O'Halloran has been with Sheffield since March of last season and was handed his Blades debut on March 28th, coming on as a substitute in the 81st minute. Sheffield went on to win that match against Chesterfield with a 4-1 result. Since making the loan move, O'Halloran has made a total of seven appearances. His latest appearance came a month ago on April 28 when he was handed his first Sheffield start in what would be a 2-2 draw to Stevenage. The young forward hasn't scored any goals or create any assists in that time.
Danny Ward went on loan to Huddersfield Town in March of 2011 for the rest of 2011/2012 season. In seven appearances at the tail end of that season, Ward scored three goals. This prompted Huddersfield to purchase him. At the end of the season, Huddersfield paid Bolton £1 million for Danny Ward's services and the youngster signed a three year deal with the Terriers. In 31 League One appearances this season, Ward has scored four times and assisted nine more.
The playoff final should certainly be a good one to watch as Sheffield United will be forced to cope with Ward and Jordan Rhodes. We certainly hope that O'Halloran gets to play a part and scores his first goal for the Blades in their most important match of the season.
