Stuart Holden's time at Bolton Wanderers has been unlucky to say the least. A broken leg, damaged knee ligaments, and damaged cartilage led him to miss an absurd amount of game time and as a result, negatively impacted the team's results. In a move that will hopefully improve Stuart's (and Bolton's) luck, the midfield engine will change his squad number from 8 to his lucky number 22.
Now, don't read into it. We've seen speculation that this is because Stu Holden has been dropped in the Bolton pecking order which is simply not true. When fit, Holden's name will be one of the first on the squad sheet without a shadow of a doubt. Instead, 22 is Holden's lucky number. It is a number that he wore in his time at Houston Dynamo where he won the MLS Cup multiple times and brought in the league's Most Valuable Player award.
Regardless of what number he wears, we home Stuart stays fit and drives the team back to the Premiership.
