Bye Bye Baby: Blake to Doncaster Rovers

After 2 years with the Bolton Wanderers, striker Robbie Blake has signed for Doncaster Rovers. He was one of the 15 players out of contract who failed to renew this summer, and to be perfectly frank, he will not be much missed. He arrived at the Reebok from Burnley just 6 months after Owen Coyle himself did, and from the start it was quite clear that he was more of a sentimental signing than anything else.

In his tenure with the Trotters, Blake made a total of 9 appearances and scored 1 goal. That goal came just 8 days after his debut, at the Reebok against one of his myriad former clubs, Birmingham City. His freekick ensured Bolton earned a 2-2 draw. And that was very much the climax of his Bolton stay. He was, admittedly, not one of Coyle's masterstrokes.

We wish nothing but the best to Robbie Blake at Doncaster.
