Another day in the buildup to the Championship and another player Bolton Wanderers are linked with. This time it's 27-year-old CFR Cluj winger Modou Sougou and he looks a genuinely exciting player. Reports say that Sougou would be availabe for somewhere around £1 million and Bolton are joint-favorites to sign him along with Leicester City.

Sougou was born in Senegal in 1984 and signed his first professional contract with Portugal's União Leiria at just 19 years old. He made less than ten appearances over the course of the season for the club before moving to Vitória de Setúbal. He was there for just one season before moving back to União Leiria where he really started to flourish. Leira were relegated at the end of his second season there, having finished dead last. In two seasons at Leiria, Modou made 38 appearances, scoring six league goals at that time.

Following the 2008 season, Sougou moved to Associação Académica de Coimbra where he stayed until 2011. He enjoyed a great run of appearances under Andre Villas-Boas who managed the club briefly from 2009-2010. From 2008 to 2011, Modou made 80 appearances and scored 19 league goals, with his largest haul, 9, coming in 2009-2010.

For his final move, Sougou moved to Romanian club CFR Cluj at the start of the 2011/2012 season. His 9 goals from 32 appearances in that season took Cluj to first place where they won the championship for only the third time in their history.

Sougou looks a decent prospect. A quick-footed and quick-thinking winger who loves a go at goal. There's a bit of a highlight reel right below this. Romania is a lot different from England and while he looks all well and good, we'll reserve judgement until he performs well in the Championship. At the moment, Bolton's winger corps looks half decent with the likes of Gregg Wylde, Chung-Yong Lee, Martin Petrov, and Chris Eagles on the books.
