Bolton Wanderers Move For Sanchez On The Rocks

Where once Bolton Wanderers move for former Valenciennes defensive midfielder Carlos Sanchez looked like it would happen, even reaching the status of imminent, now looks dead in the water. According to the Bolton News, there has not been much progress in getting the deal done in the last six weeks. Talks scheduled by both parties in that time span have been delayed and cancelled.

"Sanchez was a player I made an enquiry about five or six weeks ago,

"He's a Colombia international and a very good player but that's all it was, I've not had any more dialogue since.

"If you have had an interest in someone, there will always be stories that then go along with that, and add on, but as I sit here right now I'm no further forward."

Bolton still have not found a like-for-like replacement for Nigel Reo-Coker. Owen Coyle still holds out hope of signing Sanchez. While the deal remains unlikely, the door is still open for it to happen. The Bolton News also believes that trialist Kalifa Cisse, formerly of Bristol City, will be let go by Bolton.
