Crewe Alexandra - Bolton Wanderers

With the Scotland preseason trip now done and dusted, Bolton Wanderers return to England and look to score some goals. They will attempt to do this against League One side Crewe Alexandra, who were promoted from League Two through playoffs at last season's end. In their first three matches of the preseason, Bolton Wanderers managed just two goals and no wins. They'll want to put a couple in the back of the net.

Owen Coyle will continue to experiment with the Trotters lineup tomorrow and give as many players minutes as he possibly can. Crewe, on the other hand, are without the injured trio of Steve Phillips, Luke Murphy, and Kelvin Mellor.

Steve Davis, the Crewe Alexandra Manager, is looking forward to the matchup for his boys. He sees Bolton as a worthy test following Crewe's previous friendlies that saw the Railwaymen beat Quorn 3-0 and 7-1 at Chasetown:

"They are heading in the right direction in pre-season but there is still a little work to do.

"The opposition down south was decent. It wasn't too testing but that was good because we wanted to see what we could do in possession and creativity wise.

"Now with Championship clubs coming up we will be tested more defensively."

Meanwhile, Coyle had a lot to say about the way his squad looked going into the match, being particularly pleased with Chung-Yong Lee's progress

:"I think Chung-Yong Lee, game by game, continues to get better. He's an outstanding player at any level.

"Chung-Yong Lee could play anywhere. He's so intelligent on a football level and it was good to see him in there because he's very clever on the ball.

"He knows the positions to take up and, of course, that's one of the things you look at in the pre-season because it affords you that opportunity to do so.

"I thought Martin Petrov showed a lot of glimpses on Wednesday night and Chris Eagles scored a wonderful goal.

"We know we have terrific offensive players. What we have to do is add that to the mix and make sure we're working hard off the ball in the right shape and, when we get it, go and play."

Coyle has made three summer recruits so far, adding Matt Mills, Keith Andrews and Andy Lonergan to his squad.

And he has revealed that he is still on the lookout for other additions.

"We continue to look to add to the squad," Coyle said.

"Again, availability, finances, a lot of things come in to it, but we certainly want to add to the squad we've got and that's what we're looking to do.

"We've got strength in depth with the quality in the squad but we'll be continuing to monitor the market, as they say."
