In what is Bolton Wanderers' fifth signing of the summer, Owen Coyle has added another attacking option to the squad. Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe will join Keith Andrews, Andy Lonergan, Matt Mills, and Joe McKee as the newest member of the Trotters. He signs on for a one year loan stint.
Afobe has been with Arsenal for 11 years now, joining their youth academy back in 2001 at the ripe old age of eight. Coming through the Arsenal and England junior ranks, Afobe and Arsenal realize that his time to shine is now and that Bolton Wanderers are very likely his best chance at progressing further. He had previously had loan spells at Huddersfield Town and Reading.
Speaking to the official website, Owen Coyle said of Afobe's arrival:
"Benik is a very exciting addition to our squad for this season and once again we would like to thank Arsenal and Arsene Wenger for agreeing to the loan. He is only 19 years old and you can see already that he is going to be a very good player. He has an eye for goal, is an athletic striker and there is much more to come from him."
We sincerely hope that Adobe is much more of a Sturridge signing than a Kakuta one.
