UPDATE: Jay Spearing Apparently Having Bolton Medical

After a lot of back and forth (and even more will-he-won't-he), Sky Sports are now reporting that Jay Spearing will join Bolton Wanderers. The Trotters had originally wanted Spearing on loan but all indications pointed to Liverpool wanting a sale and £3 million for the central midfielder. Bolton, by all accounts, were unwilling to match the offer.

Now, Sky Sports (among others) have said that Spearing will head to the Reebok on a six month loan with the option to extend the deal or buy outright. The deal looks to suit all sides and could potentially plug a massive hole that Bolton Wanderers have been dealing with since Nigel Reo-Coker left.

UPDATE: Multiple outlets are now reporting that Jay Spearing is having a medical at Bolton Wanderers FC

The loan deal is arguably the best option as it gives Bolton Wanderers a chance to assess Spearing's performance for some time without having to commit much money to the cause. Should the Trotters not be satisfied, there is no commitment to keep the young midfielder.

Jay Spearing has been at Liverpool for the last 15 years, coming up through the club's ranks. He made his full debut in 2008 and has 30 appearances for the club under his belt. He has dropped significantly in the pecking order after Brendan Rodgers took over and brought in the impressive Joe Allen and Nuri Sahin combo.
