The Trotters made two moves on deadline day, less than two weeks ago. The first was bringing Jay Spearing from Liverpool. The second was sending young striker Michael O'Halloran on loan to Carlisle United for a short one month stint. Well, it only took 12 days but O'Halloran is now heading back to Bolton after canceling his loan with the Cumbrians.

O'Halloran made just one appearance for Carlisle, coming on as a late substitute against MK Dons shortly after his move. It seems as though the young Scottish forward wanted to play more, something that Carlisle could not promise him. Speaking to their official website, manager Greg Abbot said:

"Michael came to see me and he told me that he felt that he wanted to get back down to Bolton to carry on his work down there.

"He wanted more in the way of pitch time with us and we couldn't guarantee him that at this moment in time. I spoke to Owen [Coyle] and he has been fantastic about the situation, so Michael leaves here with our very best wishes."

Elsewhere, former Bolton youth and Scotland U-19 player Graeme MacGregor has signed with Scottish Premier League side St. Mirren after being let go by Bolton early in the summer.
