Ngog Ready For Watford Return

A back injury has kept David Ngog out of action since pretty much the end of last season. The recurring issue had kept him out of the vast majority of Bolton's preseason games and all five of Bolton's league and Capital One Cup matches thus far this season. The injury had even kept the Bolton Wanderers striker out of full training until just very recently. The team should now receive a boost before this weekend's Watford match as David Ngog is finally back to full health.

Since returning to training, Ngog has taken part in two reserve matches. He went just 45 in the first before going the full 90 in the second match, an away game at West Ham. Bolton ended up winning that one 2-0 thanks to a long range Jack Sampson strike that the goalkeeper could not deal with and a heads-up finish by David Ngog.

Owen Coyle spoke at length about how Ngog adds to the Trotters' attacking options during his prematch press conference today:

"David obviously played in the last development squad game at West Ham and came through that successfully, scoring a goal. Since then he's come through training and has certainly added to our squad.

"David always brings a different facet to our play and we've got a very good mix with our strikers at the club. There's no doubt that he's desperate to do well. He's looked terrific since returning to training and we played a game amongst ourselves last week and again, he did wonderfully well.

"He's got a terrific frame, is powerful and has undoubted ability. I know he's desperate to make a big impact when he's involved, whether that's Saturday or not we'll just have to wait and see."

In what will be a further boost to Bolton, all five of the players that were away on international duty have returned without injury. Chung-Yong Lee personally racked up the frequent flyer miles on his way to and from Uzbekistan:

"The international boys have been away, some further afield then others. Chungy has had to catch something like four different flights to get back from Uzbekistan. That's just the nature of the international fixtures.

"The good thing for us is that the games were on the Tuesday, as opposed to Wednesday. All of our players are back with is now and are all fit and available.

"Our squad is looking in very good shape, aside from the long-term injuries to David Wheater and Stuart Holden."
