A brief rumor emerged on the interwebs the other night that Championship "strugglers" Charlton Athletic (two points below Bolton in the table but in the drop zone) were on the verge of bringing Nigel Reo-Coker into their ranks. We didn't take much stock in the rumor and didn't pother posting it. As it turns out, said rumor was false and Charlton Athletic will not be adding the former Bolton Wanderers midfielder to their books.
Speaking about the "move," Addicks boss Chris Powell said that Charlton were not interested in Nigel Reo-Coker:
"I very much doubt it because I'm led to believe he has other options,
"We know how these things pan out but I must admit at the moment our intention isn't to try and sign him."Nigel has been training with us just to keep him fit basically.
"He has been without a club and as a favour to him, because he has known myself and Alex Dyer over the years, he has been in and just trained with the development squad.
"I think people are trying to put two and two together.
"Basically he has just come in and has been training on his own.
"We've just allowed him to do some ball work, that is all."
