Jacob Butterfield is going back to Norwich City after his Bolton Wanderers loan drew to a close today. The former Barnsley man was set to return to the canaries last month but a last-minute extension between the Trotters and the Canaries saw him stay at the Reebok Stadium for a further month.
Butterfield appeared in eight matches for the Trotters, starting four of them. His last run out came in the New Years Day loss to Leeds where he was put into the game late in hopes of adding an attacking impetus to the side. Butterfield impressed in a couple of showings, most notably the win away at Blackburn Rovers where he went 72 minutes and caused the Ewood Park side a load of trouble. Butterfield didn't manage any goals in his time wearing a Bolton shirt.
He left the Wanderers fans with this message:
So thats my loan finished.. All the best to Bolton rest of the season great club.. Back to Norwich now! twitter.com/JLButterfield/…
