According to Sky Sports News, the Irish Cian Bolger is set to sign for Bolton Wanderers from Leicester City. The 6'4" defender has spent 3 separate loan spells at League Two side Bristol Rovers, making over 50 appearances for the club. He impressed at the Memorial Stadium, and the Pirates were looking to sign him on a permanent deal, but their bid was rejected and they were unable to improve the terms.

Bolger has never made a first team appearance for the Foxes, but he was voted the Academy Player of the Year in 2009. The centre back made his first loan trip to Bristol in early 2011 when the Gas were still in League One, his debut in the Football League coming in the 78th minute of a 6-1 loss to Walsall. In his 51 appearances, he has scored 2 goals.

At 20 years old, and with the majority of his experience in League Two, it will be interesting to see how Bolger fits into Dougie's plans for the defense, if the rumours are true.
