David Wheater and Mark Davies could make reserve return tomorrow

And then the good news came flooding in. We knew that Stuart Holden and Josh Vela would be making their Bolton Wanderers reserve return tomorrow but now there is the added boost of David Wheater and Mark Davies. It seems that both potentially could be in line to join Bolton's U21s in battle against Oldham Athletic in a Manchester Senior Cup match.

Mark Davies suffered a shoulder injury in December against Huddersfield Town after he landed awkwardly and was scheduled for up to three months on the sideline. It seems that the injury is nowhere near as bad as first feared.

David Wheater has been the much longer injury miss for Bolton Wanderers, going down with a bad knee injury in Bolton's 2-2 draw against West Bromwich Albion last May. Wheater hurt a number of ligaments in his knee and was originally slated for a November/December return but that date was pushed back in late October.

Stu Holden will be making his long-awaited reserves return tomorrow as will young Josh Vela, who hurt his knee in the first few minutes of Bolton's Capital One Cup clash with Crawley Town early in the season.

Per the Bolton News iPhone App, Dougie Freedman believes that the four players could all be back in contention for first-team spots by the end of the month.

The cavalry is arriving and boy how we have missed those midfielders and that chin.
