This is "see you later," not "goodbye"

Chris Brunskill

For the last three years, the Lion of Vienna Suite (and Bolton Offside before that, which became this site) has been a major part of my life. It was something that I did just about every single day with barely a break. It was something that I absolutely adored doing because it allowed me to interact with hundreds of incredible Bolton Wanderers fans from all over the world and get into spirited debates with others.

The Lion of Vienna Suite has afforded me some incredible opportunities and the chance to meet some incredible people. I've had the chance to stand in press mix zones and chat with a number of Bolton players and I've had the opportunity to interview a number of others including Kevin Davies, Tim Ream, Stu Holden, and Supa John McGinlay. Not bad for an American living in the States.

On top of all that, I had the chance to write a brief biography of the legendary Nat Lofthouse alongside this site's other co-founder, Matilda Hankinson. The biography that was given the whole of the first chapter in a book detailing the design, construction, and unveiling of the Nat Lofthouse statue outside of the Reebok Stadium. It was an honor, to say the least.

I first started writing about Bolton Wanderers for Bolton Offside back in 2008 before school forced me to take a step back from that. My successor at that point was the aforementioned Matilda and when I wanted to get back into it in October 2010, she was more than happy to oblige. We saw the site's readership rise from one or two hundred people per week to numbers in the tens of thousands and we have all of you to thank for that.

With all of that said, I have to announce that I will be stepping away from the Lion of Vienna Suite. A change in career means much less free time, unfortunately. All of the writers run this site as a passionate hobby and it is very much a labor of love. I'll still be chatting Bolton Wanderers and doing Bolton illustrations on my personal Twitter account, which you can follow here if you are so inclined. In addition to that, I will be still be SB Nation Soccer's football gear writer with all of that information here.

I'm not leaving the site entirely, more just taking a step back. Dennis, who has been a major part of Lion of Vienna Suite since January 2012, will be stepping up take the reins of the site from me and I'm confident that he will do a better job of running the ship than I ever could.

This isn't "goodbye." This is "see you later."

Thanks for having me.
