Joe Mason deal OFF

BREAKING NEWS

Michael Steele

In a shocking (kind of ) twist of events, the loan move taking Cardiff City's Irish striker to Bolton Wanderers has officially been called OFF.

It is less than 24 hours since the two clubs announced the deal, which was supposed to bring Mason to the Reebok until 5th January 2014, and it is reported that Cardiff manager Malky Mackay has had a change of heart and invoked a recall clause set in the loan deal to bring him back to Wales.

This leaves Bolton Wanderers and Dougie Freedman with the remainder of the international break to bolster the striking ranks at the club, now that the Mason deal is off.

We have a loan slot available to fill and I'm sure the manager will be scouring the Premier League for suitable candidates to join Jermaine Beckford, David Ngog and Craig Davies and provide some competition for starting places amongst the strikers.
