Transfer Rumour Mill: Lowry to Wanderers, Wheater to Boro?

Dougie Freedman has been busy today, but will anything actually come of it?

Chris Brunskill

It has been widely reported this morning that Dougie Freedman and Bolton Wanderers are looking to freshen up the squad with the loan arrival of Shane Lowry from Millwall. Sky Sports have since reported that the move would be facilitated by David Wheater being loaned back to his former side Middlesbrough.

Lowry is an Irish/Australian footballer who plays as a defender for Championship club Millwall. His previous clubs include Aston Villa, Plymouth Argyle, Leeds United and Sheffield United.

Although Lowry was born in Australia, he appeared for the Republic of Ireland U17 and U21 team due to his Irish parentage. On 11 September 2009 it was announced that Lowry had opted to make himself available to the Australia national team for his senior career

David Wheater was born and bred in the North East. He has been at Bolton since his £3m move in 2011 - to date he has made 41 appearances for the club, scoring twice.
