D-Pratz NOT Suspended for Pies Game

More midfield options for Dougie

Clive Brunskill

In an interesting turn of events, BEN Sports journo Marc Iles has revealed that Darren Pratley will NOT be suspended for the upcoming game against local turds Wigan Athletic this Sunday.

It appears that the confusion has arisen following our man's red card sustained against Nottingham Forest earlier this season. Pratley was sent off following two bookings - but in a strange quirk of refereeing law, it has been recorded as one yellow card and one red card, from which Pratley has already served a ban.

Keeping up? No? Tough, because it gets more complicated:

So basically, the yellow card doesn't technically count. Even though Pratley has actually received five yellow cards, in terms of the FA's records, he has only received four.

Therefore, if he gets a booking between now and the end of 2013, he will get a one-match ban.

This will be a great boost to Dougie Freedman and his Bolton Wanderers side, who can now call upon Pratley to boost the midfield with his energy and dynamism much as he did against Doncaster Rovers.
