Goalkeeper extends Wanderers stay

New contract for backup keeper

Paul Thomas

Bolton Wanderers have today announced that backup goalkeeper Arran Lee-Barratt has signed an extension to the short-term contract that he penned upon his arrival in the North West back in October.

29 year old Lee-Barratt joined the club as cover for the injured Adam Bogdan and Jay Lynch, with his role of backup firmly established by manager Dougie Freedman at the time of his signing.

Since then, exposure to first team football has been limited to the bench, though he has been first choice for the reserves in their games at Leyland. Andy Lonergan suffered an elbow injury against Charlton and so Lee-Barratt's new contract has come at an opportune moment for the former Ipswich town goalkeeper.

The new deal runs for another month, by which time the injured duo of Bogdan and Lynch should be back in contention.

Lee-Barratt has previously played for Cardiff City, Weymouth, Coventry, Hartlepool and Ipswich.
