Despite Dynamo interest, David Ngog "has no wish to leave Bolton”

Yesterday, a rumor emerged from the Daily Mail (before subsequently being picked up by other outlets) that Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev were interested in Bolton Wanderers forward David Ngog. The rumored fee? A cool £4 million. It sounded a bit too good to be true. Today, that rumor has been confirmed by the Bolton News and their sources.

Ngog, who has had a relatively tough time making his performances click with Bolton Wanderers, has recently started coming into his own again. The newly-established partnership between himself and Craig Davies has reaped rewards in the way of three goals in three games for the pair, two of which Ngog was directly involved in. The recent success has sparked interest from abroad.

The Ukrainian transfer window shuts in just eight days and Dynamo Kiev are looking to make a move. Dynamo are in third place in the Ukranian Premier League table, in a Europa League spot, but just a point off second (Champions League qualifying) and a massive 14 back of winning the league. According to the Bolton News, Kiev have the go-ahead to begin negotiation:

But separate sources have confirmed that Kiev have been given the green-light to speak with the striker with a view to hurrying through a £4million transfer before the close of the window, which closes in Ukraine in a week's time.

If they are to finalise a deal, then negotiations would need to be completed in the next couple of days in order to secure a working visa.

If Bolton Wanderers really are in line to receive £4 million from a sale of David Ngog, it would almost be an offer too good to pass up despite the fact that the first team strike corps would only consist of Kevin Davies, Craig Davies, and Marvin Sordell. It's also further thinned out by the loss of Tom Eaves to Shrewsbury Town (albeit for only a month).

With all that said, it seems that David Ngog doesn't necessarily want to leave the Trotters, especially on the back of his recent form. His agent told the BN the following:

"David has no wish to leave Bolton. He has a good relationship with the new manager and with the president, Mr Gartside, and anyone who knows David also knows he is a gentle person who does not cause trouble. He is not seeking to leave the club.

"It is true that Bolton's league position is disappointing but I think he is working hard to try and help improve that.

"There was some interest in him during the last transfer window but it did not come to anything and he is now concentrating on playing for Bolton.

"He is happy and such a move to Ukraine would not interest him at this time."

Ngog nearly went on loan to Fulham in the January window, with the London club putting a confirmed bid in, but ended up staying at the Reebok. If David can figure out how to score goals before the 65th minute, he'd be even more of a fan favorite instantly.
