With second-place Hull City visiting Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium, Trotters fans were wise to expect a tough test. Inside ten minutes though, it was Wanderers on top in every single respect. Hull City could simply not deal with the men in white.
After just 89 seconds, Darren Pratley opened the scoring for Bolton Wanderers. A nice bit of interplay between Mark Davies and Chung-Yong Lee saw Davies release the Korean winger on the left. Chungy's floated cross found Darren Pratley in the center of the box and he powered the header home.
Three minutes later, Mark Davies doubled the advantage after making his way into the box. His low shot was not well handled by goalkeeper David Stockdale and went under the goalkeeper for Bolton's second.
The third goal came on eight minutes, this time with Craig Dawson getting his first Bolton goal (after his midweek one was ruled out). A Bolton corner, in retro Wanderers style, led to Dawson getting a header on the ball. It looked to have cross the goal line but Marvin Sordell was hanging out at the post and made sure that it went in.
