A month ago, there were indications that Bolton's dynamic central midfielder was on the verge of a new contract. Yesterday, Dougie Freedman said that the deal was close to completion but not yet confirmed. Today, we have word of a done deal for Mark Davies, one that will keep him at the Reebok Stadium until 2017.
Also (finally) confirmed that Mark Davies has signed new deal, taking him up to 2017. Been in the pipeline for some time that one... #bwfc

Davies originally signed for four-and-a-half-years when he joined Bolton Wanderers from Wolverhampton in January 2009. He signed a one year extension in 2011 that would keep him with the Trotters for a further year. Today, he's added another two years and Bolton Wanderers will keep hold of one of their most promising stars.
Mark Davies, 25, has had plenty of ups and downs in his career so far, especially with injuries. A recurring ankle problem and the shoulder ligament injury that kept him out for much of the last three months were the main culprits. Playing in an advanced role, just behind the strikers, had given Davies a new lease on life though and he showed his class in the 4-1 rout of Hull and in the Peterborough win (prior to going off with a knee injury).
