Mark Davies to undergo knee scan to assess potential injury

Bryn Lennon

In the 22nd minute, as Bolton Wanderers were leading Peterborough United, Mark Davies took a fairly innocuous challenge. Whether his studs got caught in the turf or he turned awkwardly, something didn't go right for Davies' knee and the central midfielder was down on the ground, writhing in agony. With physios on and assessing him, the stretcher was ordered onto the pitch.

Mark Davies would walk off on his own power and after a minute or so on the sidelines and Stu Holden ready to make his league debut, tried to run the injury off. It didn't work and Stu Holden would enter in the 25th minute and go for the rest of the match.

It's a major blow for Mark Davies, who had just spent three months on the sidelines with a shoulder injury, and was just coming back to form. Per the Bolton News, Davies will be taken to hospital tomorrow for a scan to assess the potential damage. Hopefully it's nothing major and Mark will be back on the pitch for Bolton Wanderers in no time.
