Although Bolton's injury troubles have been significantly reduced of late, this club can't go too long without some upsetting injury news. Joe Riley, Bolton's 21 year old up-and-coming rightback hobbled off during Bolton's first FA Cup match with Sunderland a month ago. We were told right after the fact that the injury was "superficial", but 4 weeks later it has come out on Riley's Twitter (as brought to our attention by the Bolton News) that he does in fact have a broken foot. Yesterday, he tweeted a picture of crutches, saying
My best mates for the next couple of weeks twitter.com/_joeriley/stat…
— Joe Riley (@_joeriley) February 4, 2013
And followed up telling ex-teammate Tope Obadeyi the disappointing news
@topeobadeyi broke a bone in my foot mate did it a few week ago but didn't know.. Hope ur good tops

This is really disappointing news for Riley and the Wanderers. Given that Dougie Freedman is currently rotating the squad heavily to identify the best players, it is the perfect time for someone like Riley to break into the first team. We don't have any information on how long the defender will be out, but we wish him a speedy recovery!
