And so, Bolton Wanderers five game win streak and eight match unbeaten run came to an end at Portman Road on Saturday. The Trotters made the long trip to face Ipswich Town and despite coming close on a number of occasions, it would be heartbreak for the men in white. For those of you not making the trip or specifically trying to avoid Clem, here are the match highlights.
The breakthrough came on 88 minutes thanks to Ipswich captain Carlos Edward's strike on 88 minutes. A long, low cross into the box evaded the Bolton men and fell to Edwards. The captain's first shot deflected off Marcos Alonso but fell kindly again to Carlos Edwards and this time, he did not miss. The shot was low, hard, and to the back post, beating a helpless Andy Lonergan.
The win meant Ipswich climbed the table to relative safety while other results meant that Bolton would remain in eighth, five points behind the Playoff spots.
