In seven games, De Ridder made just three appearances and was an unused substitute on four occasions. He made his Bolton Wanderers debut in the 2-1 away loss to Watford and then started both the Burnley and Nottingham Forest matches, coming off in the 57th minute both times.
De Ridder provided Bolton with an outlet going forward but the moment he entered the final third, he seemed to hit a wall. In or around the opposition box, he was largely ineffective save for a few stepovers and scuffed attempts. In those three matches, he managed a grand total of one shot and was not the kick-start on the wings Bolton fans had hoped he would be.
