Highlights of Bolton Wanderers 1-0 Blackburn Rovers (updated with gifs for everyone)

Chris Brunskill

It was very much back and forth for more than 90 minutes between Bolton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers. In the 93rd minute, it was one strike that separated Bolton from Blackburn and for those of you not there to experience the pandemonium at the Reebok, highlights have made their way on the internet.

It was the 70th minute substitute, Chris Eagles, that did the job for the Men in White. A long ball from the back following a Blackburn onslaught found its way to David Ngog who rose to head it down to Eagles. The winger-come-attacking-midfielder was facing goal but a wall of three defenders stood between him and the target. Eagles took it to the right, beat two defenders and then fired in between the pair of them. The shot wasn't exactly a screamer but the placement left Jake Kean stranded as it trickled towards the bottom left corner, smacking the inside of the post, and hitting the back of the net.

And of course, Andy Lonergan deserves a lot of credit for some top-notch saves:

It was a massive win for Bolton Wanderers that ensued in sheer panic at the ground with broken chairs and mass hugging.

If/when better quality video emerges, we will be sure to add it.
