Updated & Official: Tom Eaves recalled from Shrewsbury Town loan

Tom Eaves was supposed to be on loan at Shrewsbury Town for the rest of the season. He has played ten games for Shrews so far and they have just three more to play in their season. Salop are three spots and six points clear of the relegation zone at this point and anything but total capitulation should see them remain in League One for another season.

This article started off with "was supposed to" because it seems that young Bolton Wanderers striker Tom Eaves has been recalled. When Bolton and Shrewsbury agreed to extend Eaves' loan (which was originally only supposed to last a month), there was a 24-hour recall clause put into the contract. It looks like Bolton Wanderers have exercised that clause.

Eaves tweeted:

The timing is interesting. There have not been any reports of strikers getting injured during the Bristol City match is possible. Kevin Davies has been on the bench for Bolton Wanderers but has not been used as a substitute in the last four consecutive matches. Maybe Dougie Freedman has made the decision to not use the club captain for the remainder of the season. Maybe someone was injured. Maybe they just need another attacking option on the bench.

The club has just confirmed the report.
