Bolton Wanderers made a triumphant return to the playoff places on Saturday, beating quickly-fading Middlesbrough at the Reebok Stadium. The visitors made Bolton work for the result, equalizing and mounting a very late push that had fans on the edge of their seats. If you weren't at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday, these are the highlights for you.
Bolton Wanderers opened the scoring thanks to Chris Eagles. The winger's excellent solo run saw him skip into the area on his right-hand side and attempt to put a looping cross into the far post. The ball, slightly mishit, went over the head of Boro goalkeeper Jason Steele and into the top corner at the opposite side of the net.
Middlesbrough would level the match after some poor marking from Sam Ricketts allowed Mustapha Carayol to cross into the near post. Kieron Dyer's intelligent run and header from close range gave Adam Bogdan no chance and the score was one apiece.
Bolton Wanderers would get the advantage again as Chris Eagles slipped Chung-Yong Lee into the box. The Korean winger drove towards goal along the byline before being brought down in the area. Marvin Sordell's penalty nestled into the bottom corner of the net and Bolton would hold on for all three points.
